Training Plan Descriptions

Beginner Half Marathon

This plan is perfect for the couch-to-race beginner athlete looking to dip their toe into distance running. It’s also perfect for casual racers who have done 5k or 10k races before, or have completed other half marathons, and are looking to get across the finish line with a smile on their face and pride in their accomplishment.

 

Intermediate Half Marathon

This plan is for those competitive racers who are used to intensive training, have done this distance before and are looking to push themselves to set a new personal record or be competitive in their age group.

 

Beginner Marathon

This plan is for those who are in relatively healthy shape and are willing to take the 26.2-mile challenge. Our plan will get the running enthusiast ready to finish a great race distance with a giant smile.

 

Intermediate Marathon

This plan is for the more advanced long-distance runner looking to get ahead in the rankings. It’s advised to have multiple marathons under the belt before attempting this training load. Get this plan and get ready for new personal records!

 

Beginner Olympic-distance Triathlon

This plan is perfect for the couch-to-race beginner athlete looking to dip their toe into endurance racing. It's also perfect for casual racers who have done Sprint-distance and other Olympic-distance triathlons before and are looking to get across the finish line with a smile on their face and pride in their accomplishment. This plan starts at 4.5 hours the 1st week, maxing out at 8.5 hours, and averaging 6.7 hours/week.

Intermediate Olympic-distance Traithlon

This plan is for those competitive racers who are used to high-volume training, have done this distance before and are looking to push themselves to set a new personal record or be competitive in their age group. This plan starts at 7.5 hours the 1st week, maxing out at 10.5 hours, and averaging 8.5 hours/week.

Beginner Half-distance Triathlon (70.3)

This plan is for those who are in relatively healthy shape and are willing to take the 70.3-mile challenge. Starting at a modest 7.25 hours/week, our plan will get the triathlon enthusiast ready to finish a great race distance with a giant smile.  This plan starts at 7.25 hours the 1st week, maxing out at 11.5 hours, and averaging 9.8 hours/week.

Intermediate Half-distance Triathlon (70.3)

This plan is for the more advanced endurance athlete looking to get ahead in the rankings. Multiple half-distance races are advised before attempting this training load. Get this plan and get ready for new personal records! This plan starts at 8.75 hours the 1st week, maxing out at 15 hours, and averaging 11.8 hours/week.

Beginner Full-distance Triathlon (140.6)

This plan is for either the first-time full-distance triathlon competitor ready to claim their status as a "finisher" or for those who have raced this distance before and are happy to push themselves to the limit with repeat successes.  This plan will get you ready, get you strong, and get you over that finish line with a grin ear-to-ear. This plan starts at 10 hours the 1st week, maxing out at 16.5 hours, and averaging 12.3 hours/week.

Intermediate Full-distance Triathlon (140.6)

This plan is not for the faint of heart. An intensive, high-volume plan for the competitive endurance athlete looking to set personal records and crush the competition.  This plan peaks at 20 hours/week with an average 14.7 hours/week over the course of 16 weeks.  If you haven't hit the podium in your age group yet, you just might with this plan. This plan starts at 11.25 hours the 1st week, maxing out at 20 hours, and averaging 14.7 hours/week.
